Local Weather Conditions

When planning your daily route or when preparing for your driving test, a very important factor to take into consideration is what the local weather conditions are like. Knowing the current weather conditions in advance in your area can only help to make you safer on the road. Planning in advance and anticipating what might be ahead will serve you well on todays roads. If you are sitting the driving test it is a worrying time and being prepared for the weather conditions can only help.

LDrivers.ie has a link  to the NRA’s (National Roads Authority)  road weather station which might help you plan for your journey.

If you are looking to plan a road journey a little further than just the next few hours then a 3 day forecast is available on the link below.

Always slow down and allow more space and distance when travelling on poor road surfaces caused by bad weather. Make sure your tyres are in good condition and all your mirrors, lights and windows  are clean. Remember is it just as important to be able to see as it is to be seen in poor weather on the roads. Make sure your window washer fluid is topped up regularly and allow more time for your journeys.

LDrivers.ie wants to help reduce the number of people killed or injured on the roads but we need your help. We can all make our roads safer by each of us making just little changes in our driving behaviour. Be safe, be seen, and you won’t be sorry.

Take care,
