Test Info

In Ireland there are approximately 2.2.million drivers, of which 250,000 are learner drivers. There are 51 test centres and 150 testers. A learner driver has to sit a theory and practical exam to show they have the basic skills to be able to drive safely on our roads. The driving test is conducted by an examiner from the RSA and will last approximately 40-45 minutes.

In the ‘Test Info‘ section of LDrivers.ie you will find useful information on what you can expect and we have useful tips on how to prepare for your driving test. LDrivers.ie recommends that you prepare well and in good time for your driving test. It costs €75 to apply for the driving test and it would be a shame to waste this amount of money by not preparing properly. LDrivers.ie only recommends for you to use a fully registered ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) to help you with the practical exam. You can find a list of registered driving instructors in your area on our ‘Find A Driving Instructor’ page.
